Is this just black cabs, or private hire too?
Licensed black cabs only. Every driver is TfL-licensed and has passed the Knowledge — there's no private hire option in the app, ever.
How is my fare worked out?
Every Taxi Now cab runs on the official London taxi meter. We show you an estimate before you book; the final fare is what the meter shows at the end of your trip, plus the £2 booking fee.
What's the £2 booking fee for?
It's the only fee you pay on top of the metered fare — no surge pricing, no surprise charges. It's also what funds the platform, which is why drivers keep 100% of their fare instead of the app taking commission.
Are your cabs wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Every TX4, TXE and Vito taxi on Taxi Now is wheelchair accessible, so you don't need to ask for a special vehicle.
Can I book a cab to the airport?
Yes. Pre-book your pickup for Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Stansted or Luton — and choose a Vito if you've got extra luggage.
Can I pay by cash?
The app is built around secure in-app card payment for a seamless, contactless experience. Your driver can advise on the day if cash is an option for your journey.
What if my driver cancels or I need to change my booking?
You can amend or cancel from the app. Because cancellation protection is built into the platform, drivers aren't penalised for a passenger's late change — which means a smoother experience for everyone.
